A FRIEND INDEED

 

   Sudha and Jane were the best of friends. Both were in standard ten. Both were excellent in studies and both, competitors for the first rank. Then tragedy struck. Jane met with an accident. She lost her eyesight. Shocked at what had happened, Jane lost interest in everything.

           Sudha couldn’t bear this and decided to help Jane. First she spoke to Jane to help her regain her confidence. Then she read aloud the lesson to her and every evening studied together with her. Both passed with distinction, much to everyone’s admiration. The Headmaster gave special prizes to both.
